I am a PhD student in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Applied Mathematics at the University of Arizona. Originally from Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico, I am now a proud U.S. citizen! My research focuses on applying machine learning to geoscience, specifically targeting pre-fire and post-fire hazards.
In addition to my academic pursuits, I am a vegan chef who enjoys cooking, hiking, canoeing, and swimming. I share my home with my husband, along with our cats, dogs, chickens, pig, bees, and many beautiful plants. I also serve on the councils of several nonprofit organizations that support Native American communities and their ceremonial practices.
